To get the most out of your CDS experience, we highly recommend registering for our online forum, CDS Discussion, and our Discord server, CDS Commons.
The CDS Discussion forum is the central hub for all official CDS announcements, updates, and discussions. Here’s why registering for the forum is important.
Stay Informed
Be the first to know about upcoming events, policy changes, and important news from the CDS administration. Official announcements are always posted on the forum first.
Connect with the Community
The forum is a vibrant space where you can connect with fellow CDS members, ask questions, share your experiences, and participate in discussions about all things CDS.
Get Support
Need help navigating Second Life or have a question about CDS? The forum is a great place to get support from experienced members and staff.
Shape the Future
The forum is also a platform for community discussions and feedback. Registering allows you to participate in shaping the future of CDS by sharing your ideas and suggestions.
How to Register for CDS Discussion
Registering for the forum is a quick and easy process. Simply send a notecard inworld to either Lilith Ivory, Callipygian Christensen or Delia Lake.
Be sure to include:
- the user name you wish to use (we suggest you use your SL name so that people know who you are when posting)
- a valid e-mail address
- agreement that you accept the rules of the forum
- a statement that you are older than 13 years of age.
You will receive notification and a password when your registration is completed. If you do not receive a response to your request for registration within 24 hours, contact the person you sent the notecard to and check that they received it. If there is still no response, send your notecard to any other name on the list and include the information that you have not received a response to your first request.
Our Discord Server, CDS Commons
In addition to the CDS Discussion forum, our community also thrives on a dedicated Discord server. Discord is a free platform that offers a variety of features beyond traditional forums, perfect for real-time interaction and engagement. It allows for text chat, voice chat, and even video calls.
The CDS Commons Discord server provides several additional benefits for CDS citizens and friends, such as:
- Live Discussions: Unlike the forum’s post-and-reply system, Discord enables real-time conversations. You can jump into voice channels to chat with fellow members about ongoing projects, troubleshoot issues together, or simply have casual discussions.
- Enhanced Collaboration: Discord allows for screen sharing and file uploads, making collaborative work on projects or brainstorming sessions a breeze.
- Building Connections: Strike up conversations in text channels dedicated to specific topics or interests. You can also connect with members who share your gaming preferences or hobbies.
By registering for both the CDS Discussion forum and the Discord server, you’ll gain access to the full spectrum of our online community. The forum offers in-depth discussions and permanent archives of information, while Discord provides a vibrant space for real-time interaction and connection.
